CCSD Medicaid School Health Services

School Health Services are services provided by a Local Education Agency for children who attend public schools in Nevada. School Health Services are medically necessary services listed in the student’s plan of care, and/or preventive services that are coverable under Early Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment as defined in 42 Code of Federal Regulations 440.40(b). Services listed in a plan of care are designed to meet the needs of a child and work towards the reduction of a physical or mental impairment and restoration of the child to the best possible functional level.
To receive reimbursement for services through the Medicaid School Health Services program, each Medicaid-eligible student must have a plan of care that documents the medical necessity of the service(s) to be provided. A plan of care is not needed for preventive services that are coverable under the Healthy Kids Program (Early Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment).
Families with students currently enrolled in CCSD may complete the Consent for Release of Information and Medicaid Reimbursement form using Campus Parent (campusportal.ccsd.net).
CCSD staff are able to support the CCSD Medicaid School Health Services program by:
- Ensuring an area for speech-language pathologists, behavioral and mental health service providers, school nurses, occupational and physical therapists, and other service providers to deliver services to students.
- Encouraging families to use Campus Parent to complete the Consent for Release of Information and Medicaid Reimbursement.
- Designating a computer or electronic device so families can access Campus Parent to respond to the Consent for Release of Information and Medicaid Reimbursement request.
- Using opportunities such as Open House and family nights to remind parents/legal guardians to submit Consent for Release of Information and Medicaid Reimbursement by using Campus Parent.
- Sharing Nevada Medicaid SHS brochures with families.
- Directing families to the Parent/Legal Guardian Information page of the Medicaid School Health Services website for more detailed information about CCSD Medicaid School Health Services and the Consent for Release of Information and Medicaid Reimbursement form.
