Department Overview

The Extended School Year (ESY) Department provides educational and related services beyond the typical school year. Individual Educational Program (IEP) teams determine if students qualify for ESY services based on a critical learning need or by showing regression following a school break.

• Required service in the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.
• Goal is skill maintenance.
• Transportation and food service is provided.
• Credit retrieval is available to secondary students.
• Held at 65 sites district wide.
