Department Overview

School Psychologists deliver school-based psycho-educational services intended to improve students’ academic performance and behavior, enhance their overall educational success, and promote mental health. They support individual students as well as the overall school community, by:

  • Providing consultation services and promoting collaborative problem solving.
  • Working directly with students, teachers, and parents/guardians.
  • Conducting a variety of assessments and evaluations.
  • Providing required team members for determining student eligibility for special education.
  • Offering additional assistance (Section 504, crisis intervention, etc.).

The Psychological Services department helps support a number of Clark County School District initiatives associated with the Multi-Tiered System of Supports framework. The department is also responsible for responding to parent/guardian requests for District-funded independent educational evaluations.
