Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) provide diagnostic, direct, and consultative services to students who exhibit difficulties in the areas of language, speech sound production, voice, and fluency (stuttering), by:
Evaluating students’ communication skills.
Addressing students’ communication needs through the Individualized Education Program.
Providing evidence-based direct and consultative support to students.
Utilizing Multi-Tiered Systems of Support.
Delivering services in small groups or through collaborative classroom support.
Demonstrating sensitivity and awareness of cultural and linguistic differences within diverse student populations.
