Department Overview

School Psychologists deliver school-based psycho-educational services intended to improve students’ academic performance and behavior, enhance their overall educational success, and promote mental health. They support individual students as well as the overall school community.

  • Provide consultation services and promote collaborative problem solving.
  • Work directly with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Conduct a variety of assessments and evaluations.
  • Required team members for determining student eligibility for special education.
  • Offer additional assistance (Section 504, crisis intervention, etc.).

The Psychological Services Department helps support a number of Clark County School District initiatives associated with the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework. The department is also responsible for responding to parent/guardian requests for District-funded independent educational evaluations.
